Goal Setting For The New Year!

December 10, 2021by capereserveknoxville

With only weeks left in 2021, our team at Cape Reserve is working diligently to knock out our remaining goals, enjoy the holiday season, and prepare for the year ahead. It is with great excitement that we share that we are already laying out our plan of success for 2022 and are putting the final touches on both our short and long-term goals. As we set our eyes on the future, we remember all we have achieved and how far we have to go. After years of practice, our people are experts on goal setting and know just what they must do to set themselves up for 365 days of growth. If you’re new to the game, don’t worry. Today, we’re going to share three tips to help you kickstart the year ahead on strong footing!

“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes.” – Andrew Carnegie

BE REALISTIC

While being a dreamer is admirable, it’s imperative that you set realistic goals. When figuring out all you want to achieve, look at where you are now and think about what makes you uncomfortable. That is what you need to work to overcome. Your goals should not be within your comfort zone; they need to make you push yourself. However, you know your limits. So, don’t overshoot your shot. If you go too big, you’re going to take a hit when you fail. Remember, you can always reevaluate mid-year and set higher goals!

CREATE SHORT AND LONG-TERM GOALS

As we touched on earlier, our team members at Cape Reserve are encouraged to set short and long-term goals. Don’t solely think about where you want to be a year from now. Set goals for each quarter, mid-year, and end of the year. Each short-term goal should be a stepping stone, building you up to having the skills and confidence to achieve your long-term goals. Developing yourself into someone who is prepared for whatever the future holds should be your ultimate outcome!

MEET WITH YOUR MENTOR

Goal-setting is not a solo endeavor. While you should lay out all you want to work towards, your mentor can help you create a game plan. They have experience on their side, have been where you are, and know what pace would suit you. Don’t let your pride stand between you and success. Utilize your resources to their fullest extent.

“All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible.” – Orison Swett Marden

No matter how 2021 went for you, January 1st is a fresh start. Begin putting together your action plan now, and the upcoming months will pass with efficiency. You are in control of your future, and we hope these goal-setting tips help you excel in 2022. Our Cape Reserve team wishes you the best and hopes that you have a wonderful holiday season!
